John “JP” Purdy is a vocalist and
multi-instrumentalist with more than 30 years of performance experience in Toledo, Detroit, and Fort Wayne. During that time, he’s handled lead vocals, backing vocals, as well as both guitar and keyboards for such bands as Octavian, Scenario, The Relatives, Alter Ego, The Harley Packer Band, and most recently, Rodney Parker & Liberty Beach. John has also performed with acoustic acts Two Steps from Oz and The Allen-Purdy Project, and has opened for Blackberry Smoke, Parmalee and Willie Nelson. His impressive vocal range allows him to sing baritone parts from Handel’s “Messiah” up to Steve Perry’s belting classic “Don’t Stop Believin'" When asked if he considers himself a guitarist or a vocalist, he replies, “I’m a singer who plays guitar."
